Just had fios installed to replace optonline, which worked fine, but we can save $40/month. I was telling Alex that I had read that it should be faster internet speeds because it is fiber optic right up to the house, instead of coax for that last 50 feet. Seems to me that usage in the hood would have a bigger effect on our speed with cable, because others are increasing the load before it hits the repeaters and the really fat wires, whereas with fiber optics there is plenty of bandwidth and little signal loss right up to the box on my wall. Does this make sense?
